While you spoke / one of my selves moved / off to watch. Haikumages

In the act of hearing / you speak, one of my selves moved / off and stood to watch.

Twoku:
While you spoke / one of my selves moved / off to watch.

Threeku:
While you spoke  / one self stood apart / listening.

The main title poem for this post is actually derived from the opening lines of a poem by my father.  Although his poem goes on beautiful and insightful, the first lines form a haiku (senyru) and have inspired me since childhood, so I offer it here, in a 3-5-3 short version…

Just in case you’re a syllable-counter, the main haiku (senyru) which titles this post (my Dad’s poem lines) has an extra syllable in the first part — madness!!  So, this is a 6-7-5 syllabled poem., aka free-form – kinda refreshing!

“Haikumages” are short poems (mostly haiku and senryu-style) combined with images (mostly original photographs and graphics) by Russ Murray.
