An untended field / beckons from beyond a gate / in silo’s shadow.

Sunlit field / beckons from beyond / the shadow.

“Haikumages” are short poems (mostly haiku and senryu-style) combined with images (mostly original photographs and graphics) by Russ Murray.

  1. I always like photos of a gate, leading a person to imagine what could be beyond it. I like the second haiku better, it seems more concise, and for me, conveys the duality of the light and shadow in all of us. It is a hopeful haiku. Really wonderful. Would like to copy it (for my own use)

Thanks Carol! I agree, the extra effort to pare the haiku down to 3-5-3 syllables, can reveal its essence. Do what you like with it…
