My father used leave the Christmas ornaments and decorations up until they collided with the next Christian holiday – Easter. The tree would be so dry and brittle that breathing hard anywhere near it would send a shower of needles to the floor. It was a strange tradition that died with him, but his children laugh and remember it each year as we put our own ornaments away (early)…
